City of Santa Fe Annexation facts for Businesses
- As a result of the annexation, any gross receipts tax that you collect as part of your business, as well as any gross receipts tax that you are responsible for remitting to the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department will change from 6.500% (Santa Fe County rate) to 8.0625% (City of Santa Fe rate). Collection of the new gross receipts tax rate begins on January 1, 2010.
- City Business Registration: contact our Finance Department Business Registration section at 505-955-6401 or visit them at City Hall, 200 Lincoln Avenue, to register your business with the City and pay the $35 registration fee. Click HERE for more information and forms.
- Hotels pay Gross Receipts, Lodging and Convention Center taxes. GRT is 8.0625%, Lodging is 4% and Convention Center is 3% for a total of 15.0625% local tax on hotel rooms.
- City of Santa Fe Minimum wage is at $9.85 and is not expected to change in 2010.
